Ceramic Custom Dental Crowns
Traditionally crowns were made with ceramic bonded to a metal (gold) alloy core. This type of crown is very durable but can suffer from the “black line” appearance you describe if gum recession occurs. That “black line” appearance is an unattractive look and new patients from all over Arizona and across the U.S. come to the Dental Brothers to transform that crown into pure natural beauty. Saying goodbye to “black line” and hello to “confidence made possible” without that black line in advanced restorative dentistry.
The sensitive exposed roots can be treated by the daily application of desensitizing toothpaste together with a similar application of medication by the Dental Brothers and their team of expertise.
All ceramic custom crowns designed by the Dental Brothers have no dark metal under and allow light to penetrate and brighten the exposed roots and even if the root becomes expose again this is much less noticeable.
A crown is a cap placed on top of the entire tooth surface to restore its shape, size, strength and /or appearance. Crowns are used:
- To attach a bridge
- When a filling is too large for the tooth to support
- To protect a cracked or broken tooth
- To cover a tooth with a root canal
